  • Blogging (Definition: Shortened from "web log," bloggers combine text, images, links, video, audio, etc. in an online personal diary/commentary format, usually arranged in chronological order, with the ability for blog readers to comment on the posts.  An example of microblogging is Twitter.)
 
  • RSS Feed Aggregators (Definition: An RSS aggregator collects syndicated feeds from various online sources, such as blogs, newspapers, podcasts, etc., in a single location for easy viewing.)

 

  • Social Networking for Librarians (Definition: A social network is an online community of members sharing a common interest who communicate mainly through online methods.)

 

  • Wikis (Definition: An online collaboration tool where members of a class or community can edit webpages to share information, links, photos, text, etc., with other members of the community.)

 

  • Podcasting (Definition: Audio files created by a person or class as a reflection of their work or with a message for the community.  Usually in MP3 format, these can be downloaded to audio software such as iTunes and loaded onto iPods or MP3 players.)
